Stereotype of the Month Entry

Another Stereotype of the Month entry:

A correspondent sent me the accompanying photo. I assume it's from the San Francisco area, where she lives. Apparently it was the display in the window of the Totem Lumber company.

It looks only vaguely like a real totem pole, but the real problem is the Indian maiden peeking out from behind the pole. For a little figure, she looks like a big stereotype. If her braided and feathered getup ever existed, it would've been back East, not on the California coast.
